A biopic about the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis, is reportedly in the works, based on his 2004 autobiography "Scar Tissue." The film will delve into Kiedis's life until the turn of the millennium, candidly addressing issues such as drug addiction and the loss of bandmate Hillel Slovak.
According to the "Deadline," the movie is being developed with Kiedis as one of the producers, alongside film producer Brian Grazer and Guy Oseary, the manager of the American band.
As of now, further details, including the cast and release date, have not been disclosed.
"Scar Tissue" provides an intimate account of Kiedis's life up to the year 2000, openly discussing his struggles with drug addiction and the tragic death of guitarist Hillel Slovak in 1988 due to a heroin overdose.
In 2016, Kiedis admitted to having "regretted writing it at all," but he eventually realized that the book wasn't just for him but to illustrate that someone can hit rock bottom and make a comeback.
